Saving trees is the job, too

A big oak or longleaf pine took decades to grow. Before anything comes down, Richard looks at what's wrong and what it would take to keep it healthy and safe.

What we offer

Care that keeps trees standing

Tree health check

Richard walks your property, looks at each tree you're worried about, and explains what he sees in plain terms: what's normal, what's a problem, and your options.

Cabling & bracing

Steel cables and rods support split-prone trunks and heavy limbs, so a valuable tree can stay without becoming a hazard. Systems should be checked every few years.

Disease & insects

Identifying what's attacking a tree, from bark beetles in stressed pines to leaf and root problems, and treating it or containing it before it spreads. Richard holds the licenses this work requires.

Fertilization

Our sandy Sandhills soil drains fast and holds few nutrients. Targeted feeding helps stressed or newly disturbed trees recover from the roots up.

Ongoing monitoring

Regular check-ins on trees near your home, so problems are caught early and work is planned before storm season.

Not sure what you need?

Ask for a free estimate, or book a health check for a full assessment. Either way you'll get an honest answer, even if it's "leave it alone."

Tree health questions

Can my tree be saved?

Often, if the problem is caught early. Richard will tell you honestly whether care is worth it or whether removal is the safer choice.

Does a health check cost anything?

Yes. A tree health check is a full assessment, so it's a paid service. Estimates for removal, trimming and other work are always free.

Is cabling permanent?

Cables and rods stay in the tree, but they need to be checked every few years and adjusted as the tree grows.

My pine has brown needles. Is it dying?

Not always. Pines shed older inner needles every fall. Browning from the top down, or a whole tree changing color quickly, is more serious. Text a photo and we'll tell you.
