Rooted in Moore County since 1983

One family business, one phone number, and a crew that treats your yard like their own.

Our story

Richard McCaskill and four decades of Sandhills trees

Richard started the business in 1983, originally as Mac's Tree Works, with a simple aim: take care of the trees that make the Sandhills what it is, and do honest work for the people who own them.

More than 40 years later he still walks the jobs himself. He knows how longleaf pines, loblollies and old oaks grow and fail in our sandy soil, which trees can be saved with the right pruning or support, and which ones have to come down before the next storm does it for you.

That knowledge comes from decades of hands-on work, not a sales pitch. Ask him a question and you'll get a straight answer, even when the answer is that you don't need us yet.

“RICHARD'S QUOTE GOES HERE: a sentence or two in his own words about how he thinks about trees and his customers.”

Richard McCaskill, owner

How we work

Honest advice

Straight answers and clear quotes. No pushy upsells, and no removal when a tree can be saved.

Safety first

Every crew member goes through training, and the team stays in contact on helmet-mounted radios from first cut to cleanup.

Respect for the land

Lawns, beds and neighbors protected. Customers say they can't tell we were there, except the tree is gone.

Gear kept right

Crane, spider lift, bucket trucks, loaders and grinders, all maintained in top shape, because a well-kept machine is a safe one.
